Echo Schools Awards Winners

Cardinal Heenan has won one of the major prizes at the Liverpool Echo School Awards this afternoon.

We were named winners of the Healthy Living Award for our innovative Health programme, which is co-ordinated by Mr Townson.

While most of our boys enjoy playing sport - and collect armfuls of trophies while doing so - we know that some students don't enjoy physical activity which, along with poor diet choices, can affect their wellbeing.

This programme works with those students and their families, combining exercise, cookery workshops and advice on food and nutrition to help them to understand why and how to make the right choices.

As well as improving their health and giving them the tools to be Health, the students also benefit from raising their self-esteem and improving their body image.

We are proud of the commitment our students show on the programme, which involves giving up their Saturday mornings, and in maintaining their progress afterwards.
