Lanzarote Trip Receives Fundraising Boost

A group of 18 students from Cardinal Heenan will travel to Lanzarote in July to take part in seven days of sporting activities.

The boys recently took part in a bag pack at Sainsbury's raising over £450 towards the cost of their trip in just one day!  Our staff also received lots of positive comments from customers and supermarket staff on the behaviour and conduct of the boys.

The group of Year 8 and 9 boys have now started a 10 week pre-trip training camp to develop physical fitness and their knowledge of nutrition and the different types of fitness training before they fly out to Lanzarote. Once there they will put their learning into practice by planning and preparing balanced breakfasts and lunches to aid their training regime.

The 18 students have just started to cycle the 2,620 miles from Liverpool to Lanzarote in the on-site Lifestyles gym. Working in teams after school it will take a few weeks for the boys to collectively achieve their goal. If you'd like to sponsor them please contact the PE office, all donations received will go towards buying sports kit for the trip and creating a great experience for these students that will hopefully inspire them to live a healthy and active lifestyle for many years to come.
