Sportsman's Night a Success

Over 160 people packed the school hall last Friday for the first PTA organised sportsmans dinner of the new academic year.

Despite a late withdrawal of Kevin Sheedy, (who had an Everton coaching commitment clash), a great night was had by all.

Late substitute David Johnson, who played for both Liverpool and Everton FCs in the 1970s and 80s, brought along his collection of 18 medals won during his career and held a lively Q&A session.

Former Liverpool FC player, coach and manager, Roy Evans (pictured right at the school) also treated the crowd to an insight into his time at the club and local comedian, Hal Nolan, rounded the night off with a flurry of jokes.

As usual the sportsmans event got the 2013/14 fundraising efforts off to a flying start.

The details of next sportsmans night will be announced in the new year but in the meantime the next social event is on Saturday 23 November, see www.cardinalheenanpta.org.uk to find out more.
