Relive our Summer School Fun
Summer School this year became a buzzing Activity Camp for our prospective year 7 and current year 7 students.
All students involved earned an ASDAN qualification as well as having a ball learning a range of new skills from fencing to graffiti art during the camp, which started in late July and ran Monday to Thursday for four weeks.
PE teacher Mr Sewill said: "The summer school is a great initiative which allows the boys to come to Cardinal Heenan to find out the ethos of the school, the behavioural expectations of what's going to be expected of them from when they start in September, but also provide them with an opportunity to engage in activities over the summer holidays that they wouldn't have had access to."
A range of staff and organisations made sure that this year's camp ran smoothly with special mention to PC Alan Landrum and his Community Support Team who led expeditions to the countryside, down the River Mersey, ice skating at Deeside and even rafting in Lancashire.
Cardinal Heenan staff and students worked alongside M&H Academy giving up their valuable holiday time to ensure that all students were able to have such fantastic opportunities. Thanks go to Miss Henry, Miss Jones, Mr Ince, Mr McCann, Mr Sewill, Miss Waldron, Miss Walsh, Mr Haddow and Reg, as well as our older students Mateusz, Liam and Daniel and past students Liam and Jack, and Karen the cook for feeding us all!
We can't wait for next summer to do it all over again with our next year 7 cohort!
