Merseyside Cup Triumph for Year 7 Footballers

Cardinal Heenan's Year 7 football team cruised to victory in the Merseyside Cup Final last night.

The squad outplayed the plucky Rainford High School and won 8-0 with a hat-trick from Sonnie Hilton and two goals from Patrick Haskell. Jack Heard, Bobby Duncan and Ronan McCall each scored a goal apiece.

The game was decided early on with three goals coming in quick succession from Sonnie with some great assists by Bobby Duncan. It was a squad triumph with half-time substitutes not disrupting Cardinal Heenan's dominance.

Team manager Mr Forgie said: "The team just kept on creating chances and scoring goals, it was a spectacular match. Well done lads."

The Year 7 team will now turn their focus to the semi-finals of the Liverpool and National Cups.

Congratulations to the team and good luck with the upcoming games.
