Red Nose Day Fun with Sixth Form Bake Off

Sixth Form students and staff put their baking skills to the test for this year's Red Nose Day by staging their very own Cardinal Heenan Sixth Form Bake Off.

18 students went head to head with Mr Phipps and Mr Hignett to see who could rise to the occasion and bake the best cakes. They had just 2 hours in which to bake and decorate their cupcakes, in a heated contest that took place on Thursday evening.

Everyone had a fantastic time taking part and it was great to see so many people stop by the food tech room to see history in the baking! There were some surprisingly good results (as well as a few 'soggy bottoms') and the resulting sweet treats were offered up for sale in the Sixth Form canteen on Friday.

The sale turned out to be a great success and the Sixth Form managed to raise a fantastic total of £167.40 for Comic Relief.
