Tickets for Christmas Play

This year's school play is Dick Whittingon and performances will be taking place on Monday 15th, Tuesday 16th and Wednesday 17th December.

Dick Whittington is directed by ex-pupil, Jack Cooper, who has adapted the play for our school following his previous success in directing Cinderella and Aladdin in Knotty Ash.

The cast includes Alex Connors, James Evans, Ryan Powell, Paul Awini, Albin Cyriac, Tom Coleman and Jamie Peacock and also features a guest appearance by Isobel Campbell from Broughton Hall.

They have all been working incredibly hard to get ready for the show, so we would be delighted if you could come along and show your support.

Tickets are available from the Drama Office priced £3 Child, £5 Adult and £12 for Family ticket (2 adults and 2 children).

Performances will start at 7:00pm and will finish at approximately 9:30pm.

Bible Quote

“Praise the Lord because he is good.  His faithful love will last forever.”
Psalm 136:1

Word of the Week

Machiavellian (adjective)

Subject which uses this term: English Literature; Drama; History; Politics

Meaning: cunning, scheming, and unscrupulous.

For example: ‘Mrs Lyons is Machiavellian. She manipulates Mrs Johnstone into giving up her baby. She uses Mrs Johnstone’s superstitious nature to ensure she gets what she wants.’

MRS. LYONS: You do know what they say about twins, secretly parted, don’t you?

MRS. JOHNSTONE: What? What?

MRS. LYONS: They say…they say that if either twin learns that he once was a pair, that they shall both immediately die. It means, Mrs. Johnstone, that these brothers shall grow up, unaware of the other’s existence. They shall be raised apart and never, ever told what was once the truth. You won’t tell anyone about this, Mrs. Johnstone, because if you do, you will kill them."
