We are England!
Our triumphant Year 7 footballers travelled to Stafford last weekend to take part in the Danone Nations Cup England Final at St George's Park.
After an absolutely stunning performance the Cardinal Heenan side was crowned Team England and will represent their country in the Danone Nations Cup later this year (the world's biggest football tournament for children aged 10 to 12).
Our boys who will represent England are:
Ethan Sansbury Maddox, Sam Clarke, Tom Williams, Jack Heard, Sonny Hilton, Patrick Haskell, Luca Connell, Bobby Duncan and Ellis Jones.
As this is a 9-a-side tournament in squads of 12 so the remainder of the squad will be made up of boys from Emerson School in London who Cardinal Heenan faced down in the National Cup Final last month.
Mr Forgie said: "Our boys deserve as much credit for their conduct as they do for their performance on Sunday. They were a credit to the school and the country."
Each year 2.5 million children from all four corners of the world participate in the event.
Throughout the 32 participating countries local and national finals are organised, whereby the winning team represents their respective country at the World Final.
The World Final will take place at Wembley this year on 7 September in the presence of the competition's international ambassador and footballing legend Zinedine Zidane.
