Sixth Form Head Students Selected
The Sixth Form Head Students and Deputies were selected last week after a rigorous interview process involving all candidates having to speak to their sixth form peers in assembly to promote their ideas for change and development within the sixth form and the lower school.
A panel consisting of Ms Smyth, Mr Edwards, Mr Kimberley and Mr Phipps interviewed the final 5 students and after much debate awarded the following positions:
Head Students - Rachel Dickson and Kieran Gaul
Deputy Head Students - Charles Mossman, Oliver Stone and Joe McLean
These students will now be running the Sixth Form student council every Friday night at 3pm in the Glass Room in the Sixth Form Café. Anyone that is interested in becoming involved with the council can either drop into one of the sessions or see any of the council reps.
Very well done to all of those who applied for the roles and we now look forward to seeing what ideas and initiatives you can bring to the school.
“Praise the Lord because he is good. His faithful love will last forever.”
Subject which uses this term: English Literature; Drama; History; Politics
Meaning: cunning, scheming, and unscrupulous.
For example: ‘Mrs Lyons is Machiavellian. She manipulates Mrs Johnstone into giving up her baby. She uses Mrs Johnstone’s superstitious nature to ensure she gets what she wants.’
MRS. LYONS: You do know what they say about twins, secretly parted, don’t you?
MRS. JOHNSTONE: What? What?
MRS. LYONS: They say…they say that if either twin learns that he once was a pair, that they shall both immediately die. It means, Mrs. Johnstone, that these brothers shall grow up, unaware of the other’s existence. They shall be raised apart and never, ever told what was once the truth. You won’t tell anyone about this, Mrs. Johnstone, because if you do, you will kill them."
"Don't be afraid! I am here with good news for you, which will bring great joy to all the people."
