Computer Science GCSE

       Course Overview
       •  Gives learners a real, in-depth understanding of how computer
         technology works, particularly in terms of programming
       •  Develops critical thinking, analysis and problem-solving skills

       Course Content
       •  Component 01 – Computer Systems (1 hour 30 minute exam)
         The first component is an exam focused on computer systems covering
         systems architecture, memory, storage, wired and wireless networks,
         network topologies, protocols and layers, network security, system
         software, moral, social, legal, cultural and environmental concerns

       •  Component 02 – Computational Thinking, Algorithms and Programming
         (1 hour 30 minute exam)
         This component is focused on the core theory of computer science and
         the application of computer science principles, covering translators and
         facilities of languages, algorithms, high- and low-level programming,
         computational logic and data representation

       •  Component 03 – Programming Project (non-exam assessment, 20 hours)
         This component is the non-exam assessment where candidates will
         be challenged by a range of exciting and engaging tasks to apply the
