Speaking a second (or even third) language is a great skill to have and we offer our students the chance to learn Spanish whilst they are studying with us.
They also have the opportunity to take part in fantastic field trips - in September 2013, for example, a group of year 10 learners spent a week in Valencia.
A qualification in Spanish, or any language, is useful in hotel and hospitality industries, teaching and translation and can open doors to working abroad in many other fields.
Key Stage 3
Students follow the national curriculum.
Key Stage 4
Building on key stage three studies, students will learn how to speak and write confidently in Spanish on a variety of topics including lifestyle, leisure, holidays, home, school and work. Assessment is via speaking and listening tests (60%) and a final written exam (40%).
