Studying events in local, national and international history helps us to understand how the past influence modern life over time.
A qualification in history is useful in a variety of fields and careers eg journalism, law and the civil service.
Key Stage 3
Students follow the national curriculum.
Key Stage 4
International relations, the Vietnam War, Hitler’s Germany, conflict resolution and Britain at war are all covered in this GCSE course. Assessment is made via two written exams (75%) and coursework (25%).
Key Stage 5
Our AS/A2 course builds upon learning gained at GCSE level, topics covered include Tsarist Russia, life in Nazi Germany and recent British history and the state. Assessment is via examinations and coursework.
