Curriculum Design Technology

We have fully equipped woodwork workshops in our new school building and IT suites which are also used for the CAD elements of studies.

A design technology qualification would be beneficial to anyone looking to work in architecture, engineering or the manufacturing or construction industries in the future.

Key Stage 3

Students follow the national curriculum.

Key Stage 4

Our GCSE resistant materials students learn about the different properties and uses of woods, metals, plastics and other smart materials.  The manufacturing process and computer aided design is also covered.  Assessment is via portfolio, the development of a product (60%) and a final exam (40%).
