Curriculum Business Studies
Our business and enterprise staff work closely with local employers and universities in Liverpool to offer our students relevant experiences and exciting opportunities to get a genuine insight into the world of work.
For example a group of A Level students spent a day at Regatta in January 2014 and in the 2013 summer term a group of experts came in and helped year 9 students to come up with a business proposition for a new soft drink for the World Cup 2014 in Brazil.
A qualification in business can help students go on to work in many different fields including marketing, accountancy, HR and project management.
Key Stage 4
Students will study examples of enterprising behaviour at GCSE level as well as planning and economic contexts in this course. Small businesses are looked at alongside household names. Assessment is via exam and coursework.
Key Stage 5
Our AS/A2 in Applied Business qualification is suitable for students who want to work in a business discipline in the future. It covers financial planning, people in business and promotional activities and assessment is via coursework and examinations. Students will go on a range of trips to the likes of Alton Towers, the Trafford Centre and the Adelphi Hotel.
